EWGA Championship Presented by Callaway Golf
The Championship puts your game to the test and creates an opportunity for personal growth in a competitive yet fun environment. Members of all skill levels with an official USGA handicap index are encouraged to participate.
Three stages:
- One 18-hole qualifying event at the local Chapter level
- One 18-hole District Semi-Final Championship held at 15 venues across the United States.
- 2009 Championship Finals: A two-day, 36-hole event.
The Championship, by design, offers two different competitive formats: Stroke Play and Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition. You select the competitive format that best fits your game, personality and skill level.
Stroke Play Competition
Players are grouped into one of five flights at each level of Championship competition based on their official Handicap Index. Both Low Gross and Low Net winners in each flight will advance to the next level of competition.
Inter-Chapter Team Scramble Competition
If teamwork and teambuilding are your strengths, this may be the format for you. This format consists of a four (4) woman team, comprised of your Chapter friends and fellow golfers, who meet the eligibility requirements to play in the scramble format.
Match Play Competition
To qualify:
Follow registration guidelines distributed through your local Chapter
Select either the stroke play or scramble division when you register
Be a female, EWGA member in good standing
Have a verifiable USGA Handicap Index
Be an amateur as defined by USGA Rules of Amateur Status
